📌 Generally, 1 credit equals 18 hours of instruction; 1 lab/practicum credit equals 36–54 hours.
University Act:
In principle, one credit is defined as 18 hours of instruction. The calculation of credits for internships or experiments shall be determined by each university. (Article 23 of the Enforcement Rules of the University Act)
NTHU Academic Regulations:
At our university, a credit is awarded for eighteen hours of instruction toward a course. For internship or laboratory courses, each credit is generally based on 36 to 54 hours of instruction, with the course to be completed within 16 weeks. For clinical practicum courses in the Post-Baccalaureate Program in Medicine, one credit is awarded for a maximum of 80 hours.
