Course Prerequisite
What are course prerequisites?
Dealing with Prerequisite Challenges
If you deeply wish to enroll in an advanced course but have not officially completed its stated prerequisite at NTHU, you can petition for an administrative waiver. You may discuss enrollment eligibility with the course instructor and the academic unit offering the class if you meet any of the following scenarios:
- You have already completed fully equivalent coursework at another accredited university.
- You have completed relevant foundational coursework during your prior undergraduate or prerequisite studies.
- You have acquired sufficient prerequisite knowledge or professional skills through alternative verified means.
In these specific instances, the instructor or the department may grant you special enrollment permission, provided you can demonstrate that you have mastered a comparable course in the same or a closely related subject field.
To officially apply for a prerequisite waiver, please download and complete the form below, obtain the instructor's signature, and submit it to the offering academic unit:

Please be strongly advised that students should never assume they can remain enrolled in a course without meeting or officially clearing the stated prerequisites. The Curriculum Office will systematically audit and purge unauthorized enrollments prior to the semester start. Always proactively verify your eligibility with the instructor or the offering department before attempting to register.
