How to Search for Courses on NTHU System

To check complete course information within the NTHU system, please follow the guidelines below:

📘 Course Code Criteria
• Courses offered by NTHU follow the standard departmental course codes and remain unchanged.
• Courses offered by other universities through the TAICA alliance are listed in NTHU’s course inquiry system under the specific course code prefix "AIA".
📝 All such courses will be explicitly marked as "AIA Course" in the course remarks section.

💡 Quick Filtering Steps:

  1. Use the NTHU Course Inquiry "Keyword Search" function directly. (Public access, no login required)
  2. Enter the keyword "AIA" and search within the Course Remarks field.

NTHU Courses

  • Register directly through NTHU’s course selection system.
  • If a course is full, you may still attempt to add it manually (extra selection).
  • Inter-university course selection applications from students of other external institutions will not be accepted.

⚠️ Course Withdrawal Policy (Critical Notice)

Please be highly aware that the TAICA alliance withdrawal timeline differs significantly from NTHU's default timeline.

In addition to applying for withdrawal through NTHU's system, students MUST also submit a separate Course Withdrawal application in strict accordance with the specific schedule and regulations announced by the TAICA alliance. Failure to do so will result in an unremovable failed grade.

➡️ Action Required: Follow the withdrawal timeline announced by the TAICA alliance.

Synchronous In-Person Exams and Presentation Regulations

Some alliance courses may include mandatory synchronous in-person examinations or final presentations. Students should pay close attention to the specific physical venue regulations and timelines provided in the syllabus.

Digital Learning Platform: NTU COOL

All courses listed above will utilize National Taiwan University's official NTU COOL digital learning platform.

📬 How to Access Your Course Notifications on NTU COOL?

  1. All announcements, invitation links, and course materials will be delivered ONLY to your official NTHU student email account (e.g., 114xxxxxx@my.nthu.edu.tw).
  2. Personal commercial email accounts (such as Gmail, Yahoo, or Hotmail) WILL NOT receive any platform notifications.

Please be aware that all academic notifications and access links sent through NTU COOL will only be delivered to the official school email address associated with each student. They will not be forwarded to personal email accounts. Therefore, all enrolled students must take action to secure their access.

📢 Essential Step: Enrolled students must ensure that the email address registered in NTHU's Academic Information System (AIS) is their official university email address (ending precisely with nthu.edu.tw). Otherwise, you will miss all critical announcements, homework deadlines, and lecture links.

💡 Quick Fix: Log into AIS ➔ Personal Information ➔ Email Address Maintenance and update it to your school account.

AIS Email Maintenance

Once the email address is confirmed, it cannot be modified for the remainder of the semester. If you discover any registration discrepancies or platform errors, please notify the Division of Curriculum immediately to secure your digital access. (curricul@my.nthu.edu.tw)
