🎓 General Education (GE) Credit Guide

General Education courses are a mandatory university requirement for graduation. A total of 20 credits must be completed before graduation. Please plan your schedule accordingly.

I. Curriculum Structure

  • Core GE Courses (At least 4 courses): Students must complete at least 1 course from each of the four core dimensions.
  • Elective GE Courses (Remaining credits): Students can choose freely from the three main elective areas.
  • Important Note: For Art and Practical Skills courses, a maximum of 2 credits can be counted toward the total GE graduation requirement.

II. Course Eligibility (Restriction Codes)

When selecting courses, please check the "Restriction Code" in the Course Timetable. Only eligible courses will count toward your GE credits:

Code Description
*1 Open to all students; credits will count as GE.
*3 Students from the same college as the offering department cannot count this as GE.
*7 Students from the offering department cannot count this as GE.
⚠️ Disclaimer: Courses not explicitly categorized as GE (e.g., language courses) will NOT be recognized as GE credits. Check details here: [GE Timetable] or [General Course Timetable] (Select "Center for General Education" in the offering unit dropdown).

III. Enrollment Limits & Extra Selection

  • Undergraduate Limit: Max 3 courses via the online system. For a 4th course or more, please use "Electronic Extra Selection".

  • Postgraduate Limit: Max 1 course via the online system.

  • Automatic Removal: Any GE course selections exceeding the limits above will be automatically removed during random processing. These will be marked as "Expected Capacity Full" in your selection status.
