Advising Password

Explanation of the Advisor–Advisee System

The advisor–advisee system is managed by the Counseling Center under the Office of Student Affairs. Click here for more details.

Assignment of Advisor

At the beginning of the first semester, each student is assigned an advisor by their major department. The aim of the NTHU advisor system is to help students adjust to school life, select courses, improve study efficiency, and guide their personal and career development.

Password Requirement

To strengthen this relationship, students must enter the password (an 8-digit number) issued by their advisor before the Add-or-Drop selection deadline. Each student has a unique password, which changes every semester.

During the course selection period for new students and the 3rd course selection period, new students can log in to the course selection system without entering the advising password (as the department has not yet assigned an advisor).

Students are advised to print out their Course Selection Result and contact their advisor to obtain the password. If you are unsure who your advisor is, or have difficulty contacting them, please contact your departmental office.

How to Enter the Advising Password (via Academic Information System)

  • During course selection periods (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Add-or-Drop): choose Select Courses and complete the input.
  • Outside course selection periods: choose Key in Advising Password and complete the input.

Failure to Enter Password

Students who do not enter their advising password for the current semester will not be able to access the course selection system in the following semester until they have entered the new password. Once the new password is entered, students will regain immediate access to course selection.
