Extra Selection Guide: How to Enroll in Courses You Were Unable to Secure

 

After the first three course selection rounds (1st, 2nd, and 3rd selections), students who are still unable to enroll in desired courses—either due to repeated rejection in the random selection process or because of course restrictions—may continue trying during the Add-or-Drop period after the semester begins.
In addition, students are encouraged to make use of the Extra Selection System during the first one to two weeks of the semester to apply for instructor approval and seek additional enrollment opportunities.

Students should refer to the academic calendar each semester for extra selection deadlines.

Applying Dates for Spring 2026

  • Student Application Period: February 23, 12:00 PM – March 7, 9:00 AM
  • Instructor Approval Period: February 23, 12:00 PM – March 9, 9:00 AM


 

Important Notes (Please Read Before Applying)

  • If a course has prerequisite requirements, the system will automatically check eligibility. Applications will be rejected if prerequisites are not met.
  • Courses marked with “No Extra Selection” do not accept extra selection requests. Enrollment is only possible through regular course selection stages or if vacancies become available.
    (In exceptional cases, if the instructor agrees to special consideration and receives the department's consent, the teacher may give the departmental office permission to accept student requests for additional course enrollments.)
  • If the system detects a potential credit overload, a warning will be issued. Students are advised to complete the overload credit approval process in advance to avoid being blocked from enrollment even after instructor approval.
     

Online Application Process

  1. Log in to the Academic Information System → Course Selection → Application for Extra Selection 
  2. Provide a reason for the request (250 characters only) → Submit the application. → The application will be automatically sent to the eForm system to proceed with the review process.
  3. Wait for the instructor to review and approve the application online via the eForm system.


How to Check Application Status and Results?

Log in to the Academic Information System → Course Selection → eForm → Application Record Inquiry, then click “VIEW” to check the current status.

  • Instructor approved: The course will be automatically added to your course list, and a notification email will be sent.
  • Instructor not approved, or enrollment blocked due to restrictions (e.g., credit overload, schedule conflict): A notification email will also be sent. Please follow the instructions provided in the email.

What If Enrollment Is Blocked After Approval?

(Three Steps to Resolve Common Issues)
If the instructor has approved your request but the course is still not added (you will receive a notification email), please complete the following steps before the Add-or-Drop deadline:
1. Go to eForm → Application Record Inquiry to identify the reason for the blockage (Common reasons: credit overload, schedule conflict, duplicate course enrollment)

2. Return to the Course Selection System and resolve the issue:

  • Credit overload: Adjust your course load to meet the credit limit or complete the overload approval process
  • Schedule conflict: Drop one of the conflicting courses
  • Duplicate enrollment: Drop the duplicated course with the same title

3. After resolving the issue, return to eForm and click Confirm that the issue has been resolved.” The system will then complete the extra selection process.

Withdrawing an Extra Selection Request

  • Go to eForm → provide a reason → cancel the application directly

When Will the Course Be Added to My Course List After Successful Extra Selection?

After successful extra selection, the approved course will be automatically added to your course list.
Students may log in to the Academic Information System to confirm their enrollment status at any time.

When Will eLearn/eeClass Be Updated After Successful Extra Selection?
During the extra selection period, the learning platforms eLearn / eeClass are updated twice daily:

  • 8:00 a.m.
  • 7:00 p.m.

Students are advised to log in to the platform after these update times.
 

Final Reminders

  • Instructor approval requires processing time. Students are strongly advised to submit applications as early as possible to avoid missing deadlines.
  • Extra selection approval is not guaranteed; final outcomes depend on instructor discretion and actual course availability.
  • All procedures are completed online. Please regularly check system notification emails and your eForm application records.
