Guidelines for National Tsing Hua University Summer Session

一、本校為增加選課之彈性特訂定本要點。凡正常學期之課程，或聘請教師困難之特殊科目，均可開設。所開設之科目每年於五月底公布。

The school has implemented guidelines to enhance the flexibility of course selection. This includes regular semester courses as well as special subjects that may face challenges in hiring teachers.

The subjects offered will be announced at the end of May each year.

二、學生參加暑期選課最多不超過九學分為原則，因特殊原因經導師及系主任同意，得超修。

Students taking summer courses are typically limited to a maximum of nine credits. However, with the consent of both the advisor and department head, it is possible to exceed this limit in exceptional circumstances.

三、學生參加暑期選課，應依規定繳納學分費，辦理選課、登記之手續。 選課繳費截止後，若修課人數不足15人之課程則停開。

To participate in summer courses, students must pay the necessary credit fees and complete the course selection and registration procedures as specified.

Courses with fewer than 15 registered students after the payment deadline will be cancelled.

四、暑期上課八週為原則。本校各科目之學分數，原則以授課滿十八小時為一學分。實習或實驗科目，原則以授課滿三十六至五十四小時為一學分。學士後醫學系臨床實習科目原則以至多八十小時為一學分。

The duration of summer classes is usually eight weeks. One credit is equivalent to 18 hours of instruction, except for internships or laboratory subjects, where the credit hour principle is 36 to 54 hours of instruction per credit. In the School of Medicine program, clinical internship subjects require up to 80 hours for one credit.

五、學生暑期選課成績考查規定如下： 成績及格或不及格，均應登記於歷年成績表內，並算入總平均內。 暑期所修學分不與任何學期學分合併累計；暑期成績亦不與任何學期成績平均。

The regulations for evaluating student summer course grades are as follows: Only passing or failing grades should be recorded in the cumulative transcript and included in the overall GPA. The credits earned during the summer term should not be combined with credits from any regular semester, and the summer grades should not be averaged with grades from any regular semester.

六、本校暑期開課得接受他校學生參加，惟須按本校「校際選課實施辦法」辦理，並應依規定繳納學分費。

The school's summer courses are open to students from other schools, but they must comply with the school's 'Inter-school Course Implementation Regulations' and pay the necessary credit fees.

七、教師開設暑期課程一律支領鐘點費，教師鐘點費依行政院頒布「公立大專校院兼任教師鐘點費支給標準表」之夜間授課鐘點費標準支給。

Teachers who offer summer courses will receive an hourly fee based on the standards set by the Executive Yuan's 'Standards for Payment of Hourly Fees to Part-Time Teachers in Public Colleges and Universities.'

八、暑假選課不辦理預選，其他未規定者，依本校學則及有關規定辦理。

There will be no pre-selection for summer courses. Any unspecified matters will be handled according to the school regulations and relevant provisions.

九、本要點經教務會議通過後施行。

These guidelines will be implemented after approval at the academic affairs meeting.
