Special Rules for Summer Courses in Calculus I or II
As announced by the Department of Mathematics:
Beginning in 2022, students wishing to take Calculus I or II in the summer must meet one of the following requirements:
- Students who have taken the course in the previous semester (fall or spring) but have not passed the course (excluding course withdrawals).
- Students with special needs who have received permission from the Head of the Mathematics Department.
Procedures
Before considering summer courses, it is strongly recommended that you consult your advisor for their opinion. You should also check in advance whether the department recognises the summer course credits you intend to take.
Application Procedure for NTHU students
- Go to Tsing Hua Academic Information System. (July 3 ~ 7, 2023)
- Print out the application form.
- For courses without enrolment limits, the instructor's signature is not required. However, for courses with enrolment limits, the instructor's signature is required before payment can be made.
- Pay the tuition fees at a convenience store (7-11、Fami、OK、Hi-Life)
- Turn the application form back to NTHU Curriculum office before the deadline ( July 7, 2023).
- Students who wish to register for more than 9 credits must get the advisor and the department director's permission.Overload application

- New graduate students who matriculate in the fall 2023 semester can enroll in the summer before their first Fall term.
**Courses with enrollments of fewer than 15 students will be canceled. Once the course is canceled，the tuition will be refunded in full.**
Frequently Asked Questions
If you are unable to select a course online for any of the following reasons, please submit a special summer course selection request to the Division of Curriculum (or email us at curricul@my.nthu.edu.tw):
- Waiting for grade notification for the same course you registered for in the previous semester.
- Already registered for the same course in the coming term.
Credit fee
Undergraduate Courses：each credit $1050
Graduate Courses：each credit $1580
IMS students taking summer courses：each credit $3000
PMED、BAI 、 IPHD students taking summer courses：each credit $5000
On-the-job training program students：according to the regulations of each on-the-job training programme.
Payment methods for tuition fees
7-11/FamilyMart/OK/LifeMart
- A handling fee of NT$6 will be charged for payments up to NT$60,000.
ATM
- Please select "Payment" instead of "Transfer".
- Enter bank code 004 (Bank of Taiwan); interbank handling fees depend on each bank's policy.
- Please check the ATM transaction statement to see if the payment has been successfully withdrawn.
- Please provide the ATM payment transaction statement or a screenshot of the payment receipt.
Bank of Taiwan
- Payment of tuition fees is accepted at all Bank of Taiwan branches.
Online Banking
- Please print the screenshot of the successful payment receipt.
For payment of summer session tuition fees, the payment receipt must have a convenience store stamp or include an ATM transaction statement or screen shot of a successful online banking payment. Please ensure that you have completed registration before making payment and note that payments are non-refundable.
Confirmation
After the Curriculum Department has processed your application form, you can go to the Academic Information System -> Transcript to confirm the completion of your summer course selection immediately, and you can login to Tsing Hua University's eeclass/ eLearn system from tomorrow. For new Master's/Ph.D. students, course selection result will be available online after 10 July =>Academic Information Systems -> Transcript
Course Withdrawal
- Course withdrawal is possible during the summer session.
- The application period for Summer Session 2023 is from 1 August to 15 August 2023.
- Tuition fees are not refundable.
- Withdrawn courses will be recorded on the student's transcript and the grade column will be marked "Withdrawn".
- Application procedure: Download the request form -> obtain the signature of the course instructor (The signature of the other university's course affairs office is also required for withdrawals from courses taken at other universities.)

- For inter-university summer sessions, if you wish to withdraw from a course, the deadline depends on NTHU or the partner university.You must complete the process before the earliest deadline of both universities.If the partner university's deadline is earlier than NTHU's -> you must obtain the partner university's signature before their deadline and submit the form to NTHU before NTHU's deadline (8 August 111).
NTHU Payment Receipt
If you need a payment receipt issued by the university, NTHU students please print it out by yourself from the NTHU Academic Information System from August onwards.
