Thesis Research

Explanation

  • For students enrolled in master’s and doctoral programs, each department requires students, in accordance with its own regulations, to enroll in the course “Thesis Research” (0 credits) starting from the second or third year of study and to continue enrolling in this course each semester until graduation.
  • If you do not make a choice before the add/drop deadline, the system will automatically enroll you after the add/drop period.
  • After the add/drop period, you can go to the School Information System and check under "Grade Inquiry" to confirm that you have been successfully enrolled.
  • First-year Master's and Ph.D. students who need to take the 'Thesis Research' course for particular reasons must request an additional selection.

Credits, Fees, and Grades

  • The Thesis Research course carries no academic credits, and no tuition or course fees are charged. During the period of enrollment, no grades are recorded.
  • After the student has successfully completed the pre-graduation oral defense, the Registrar’s Office will record the thesis grade in the semester in which the student graduates. This grade is regarded as the final examination grade and will appear in the upper-right section of the academic transcript.
