Graduate Students' Taking Undergraduate or Other Departments' Course

According to the policy, elective undergraduate courses in general education and languages will not be given any graduate credit, and the grades for these courses will not be averaged in the graduate student's transcript. For other elective undergraduate courses and courses from other departments, the grades will be averaged in the graduate student's transcript, and the student's department will decide whether or not to give graduate credit for the course.

It is important for graduate students to be aware of their institution's policies on taking courses outside of their department and to consult with their academic advisor or the appropriate department if they have questions or concerns. It is also important for graduate students to carefully consider the potential impact of taking courses outside of their department on their academic progress and degree requirements.
