The course selection process at NTHU is divided into several stages: before the start of the semester, there is the first course selection, the second course selection, the third course selection, and the final course selection stage called 'add-or-drop selection,' which takes place at the beginning of the semester. In the middle of the semester (usually during the 8th to 11th week), there is a 'Course Withdrawal Period,' which provides the last opportunity to drop a course.

There is a course selection stage exclusively for new students in the fall term.

New students in the spring semester can typically select courses online starting from the 3rd course selection period, depending on the announcement from the Registrar's Office.
