對象

• 104-106學年度入學學生(外語系、南大校區英教系同學不適用)

標準

• 全民英語能力分級檢定 (GEPT)中高級初試及複試（含）以上
• 托福網路測驗（TOEFL iBT） 92分（含）以上
• 雅思國際英語測驗（IELTS） 6.5級（含）以上
• 英國劍橋大學國際英文認證分級測驗CAE（含） 以上
• 外國學生、僑生、教育部分發之派外人員子女，持高中成績單正本（英文科成績總平均至少B+以上）及其他相關英文程度證明至語言中心申請，個案審理通過者

說明

• 若合於上列標準，經向語言中心申請通過後，得免修英文領域必修科目：一般生免修英文一、二、三 ，進階生免修進階英文，但都不給予學分
• 須於畢業前自行選修學分(任何科系任何課程皆可)來補足畢業總學分數之要求。
• 新生若入學前已符合上列免修條件，各階段選課時，自行略過英文不選
• 語言中心辦公室：綜二館206室
• 限《高中》或《大學》期間取得之證照始得提出申請

備註

• 通過必修英文免修申請者，亦視同通過英文畢業門檻。

• 第1學期入學〈開學後〉至〈畢業前)均可申請

• 若無法提供英檢成績單，請攜帶下列文件到語言中心辦公室申請，屆時會請同學現場登入網頁查詢頁面確認。

欲繼續精進修習英文課程

• 建議修習由語言中心開設，英文一二三以外之更高階各類選修英文課程(科號LANG)，課程內容請參考課程大綱或洽語言中心選課建議或後續加簽的協助

因畢業總學分數不變，申請英文免修前：

• 未修習英文一二三課程
  因畢業總學分數不變，需自行選修6學分(任何課程均可)，來補足畢業總學分數之要求。
• 正在修習英文一二三課程中
  可考慮繼續修課或退課。若選擇退課，請務必於加退選或停修期間自行退選正在選修的課程。
• 已修畢部分英文一二三課程
  已取得之學分可計入畢業學分

Waiving Freshman English and Advanced English for Undergraduate Students enrolled from 2015 Fall

This rule is applicable to

• Non English-majored Students enrolled from 2015 Fall

Test Name_Minimum Threshold

• GEPT High-intermediate – Speaking (80) and Writing (80) Tests
• TOEFL iBT_92
• IELTS_6.5
• Main Suite _CAE
• Foreign students, overseas Chinese and children of overseas MOE officials _High School English B+ and above

Waiving Policy

• Students with the above qualification(s) can apply to waive Freshman English (I, II & III) and Advanced English. Please also be noted that NO credits are granted upon the waiver.
• Students must take another 6 credits (from any courses) to fulfill the general credits required.

Notes

• Students having waived these courses automatically pass graduation threshold in English field.

Application Deadline

• Any time before graduation
• New students having met the above qualification(s) before school enrollment do not have to arrange English compulsory courses at any stage of course selection.
• After school enrollment, fill in the form on the Academic Information Systems and submit the application directly to the Language Center (located at R206, General Building II), along with copies of proof attached and your original copy of proof (to be returned upon verification).

Intending to further learn the language

• Students intending to further learn the language are advised to take other elective English courses offered by the Language Center (course number starting with LANG). Please see online syllabi or consult the Center for more course information.

【Note】

Students having waived these courses will have to take the appropriate next step.

• Students who have not taken any Freshman / Advanced English courses
  Must take another 6 credits to fulfill the general credits required.
• Students who are currently taking Freshman / Advanced English courses
  Can continue taking or drop the course. Please do follow the academic calendar should you decide to drop the course.
• Students who have completed some Freshman / Advanced English courses
  can have credits earned be counted as the general credits required.
